comic that explains all the rain in Oklahoma

Three years ago, the mighty Thor was believed to have perished during Ragnarok as chronicled in "Thor Disassembled." But comics fans know the afterlife has a revolving door in comics and they've been clamoring for the Thunder God's return ever since. Teased during "Civil War" by a homicidal clone of Odinson (affectionately known as "Clor"), fans can now rest assured that the long wait is over: The one and only Thor returns later this year in a new ongoing Marvel Comics series by J. Michael Straczynski and the writer took a few minutes to chat with CBR News about the Thunder God's return to Earth and the rebuilding of Asgard.
Straczynski is no stranger to mythology and the author plans to draw heavily upon the original Norse myths for his run on the character. At the beginning of the series, Thor finds himself in something of a limbo between life and death, drawing upon "the classic mythological structure of the hero entering the underworld in order to learn something vital and emerge stronger," Straczynski told CBR News. "Thor does have some thinking to do about the relationship between gods and men, and about whether or not he's prepared to let the lives of the Asgardians go forever, or allow them a chance at a new kind of life now that he's broken the cycle of Ragnarok."

And upon retaking his mortal coil, the son of Odin chooses to rebuild Asgard in a rather unorthodox place: eight feet above Oklahoma. "I want to show the contrast of a god living among humans, as has traditionally been the case in myth, to get both the contrast and see how one complements the other," Straczynski said. "There's a Norse-related reason he's in Oklahoma, which is all I'll say right now, but history buffs might catch it.

haberdasher

So its been pretty quiet lately.
No huge drama for me. Other people, yeah, but not me.
At the moment my cell is down.
I have one but I'm not giving out the number since its an
extra one my folks have through their share plan.
Anyway, I saw Harry Potter 5, awesome!! I truly wish they would
cave in and make the movies 3hrs like LOTR but there was plenty
action and story so I can't complain.
Saw Transformers earlier last and I can't complain about it for how fast some of the
fights were!! I'm thinking of seeing it again. Trying to hold out until the $1 theatres but
that's like months away :P
Speaking of vehicles, my brakes have apparently been out. Even though I have an indian tag
nowadays I still get paranoid about being pulled over. Also, someone's car was stolen at an off-site work related meeting. Man, that could have been me!! I was still a little freaked out and paranoid from too. Anyway, I creeped my way over to Wallie world and had them replaced. Before you say it. It was much cheaper than going to the dealership. $3.90 vs the $26.00 I paid to replace a taillight bulb.
Yep.
In other news I'm training for first responder, first aid, at work which takes place during the day. So I'll have my evenings free all next week!!
Woot!!

More bleach info

Bleach follows the lives of Ichigo Kurosaki, who is a high school student with the ability to see ghosts, and a shinigami (Soul Reaper or, literally, "death god") named Rukia Kuchiki, who crosses paths with Ichigo while hunting an evil spirit known as a hollow. Rukia is wounded during the ensuing confrontation with the spirit and is left with no choice but to transfer her powers into Ichigo. Thus the adventures of Ichigo and Rukia begin. Together they search for hollows and perform soul burials on wayward souls, cleansing the spirits and sending them to Soul Society. The early parts of the story focus mainly on the characters and their pasts, rather than the actual occupation of the shinigami. As events unfold, the story begins to delve deeper into the world of these gods of death on the "other side" called Soul Society.

Hope that answers any questions.
Now I have to find another anime to watch.
Just finished the Highlander anime. Not bad. Yet another McCloud. How many are there?
It must run the family or clan.
Also finished Lupin the 3rd movie. It pretty good but no extras on the dvd!
Grrrr! Must have extras!!

Black ice is just not a hacker thing

So I weathered the days it snowed just fine but today.........not so much.
I decided to go X-mas shopping today at Woodland Hills.
I, of course, piddled around before going over. I was going to stop by Hollywood on Peoria but they were closed. I guess the storm knocked them out so I stopped by Blockbuster and ended getting Clerks 2 for free because I signed up for the online rental thing. I've been thinking about it anyway so no bad there. Then I went to Border's and ran into Malana and chatted with her a bit. Picked a mag and some more coffee and got on the BA express.
Big mistake.
I hadn't gone that far when I hit a patch of black ice.
Fishtailed and hit the concrete barrier.
Crap!!
Crap on a stick and then some!!!
Crap, crap,crap, and more crap!!
Sigh.
Unhurt, but the impact screwed up my bumper and hood.
Still driveable it just doesn't look pretty anymore.
I drove down to a service station to look at it better and called home for some advice. The bumper was pushed in enough to be hitting my left tire.
They suggested I get a rope and tie it on to tree or post and pull the bumper out that way. The service doesn't have any rope but does have bungee cords. I try starting my car back up.
Nothing.
I call again and my dad suggests wiggling the cables and it starts up again. Impact must have knocked them loose. So the next hour is trying to pull my bumper out using the bungee cords. None of them hold.
So finally I say fuck it.
I'm to get as far as I can and then get a rope or chain and give it another try. My dad calls back and says he's on his way up. So I go over to Vintage Stock and then over to B&N. So I eat and chill out over there.
So he shows up and what I've been trying to do for hours he accomplishs in 10 mins. Grrr!!
So I'm home now minus part of my grill.
Ain't life wonderful?

Bond ..................James Bond

So things are improving at work.
I finally have decent help. So the temp that was coming in
later and later and leaving earlier for another job was given
an ultimatium of chosing jobs and either chose or stay. He left.
He wasn't a bad guy but I was getting sick of the liberties he was given.
Who gets such freedom as a temp? I wasn't so why should he?
Anyway, his replacement has come along further in a week than he did in a month.
Anyway, except for a crick in my neck I picked up last night I really enjoyed myself. Hung out with a friend from college. Went to Osaka steakhouse. That was cool, I've never gone there before. Have to try it again sometime.
After that we checked out the new Bond flick. That was awesome!!
They went totally old school. No fancy gadgets or goofy moments. There's a free running scene and plenty of bare knuckle moments. I'd have to say Daniel Craig is the buffest Bond yet.
Just getting back from pilates. Its alot like yoga except faster paced. It worked out the kink in my shoulder so that's another plus. Plan going to the riverfest in a bit and do some running around before the Steven/Nick party.
But I must have COFFEE!!

So busy

I 've been really busy just working like crazy to balance it all out. My old apt complex was weird about rent and they'd always screw me up. I moved into a smaller, cheaper place but because of its since smaller all my stuff doesn't fit so I have to rent a storgae unit. So much for saving money, eh?
Anyway, its still cheaper than where I was.
Back in Aug. my co-worker screwed up his ankle pretty and he's been out ever since. Sigh, I told them something would happen. There's only 2 of us in that department and if something would happen to myself or him that things would be screwed up. So after he got hurt I've been stuck with training replacements or other operaters from other shifts.
Some are better others to be sure. Unfortunately one of them sucks so bad that I would rather be stuck alone for 12 hrs than work with. I've worked with him twice and he's just sucks ass!! Doesn't listen and just a spaz. I'll be when they finally move him out of there. Admittedly I sucked when I started but I improved eventually. He hasn't.
Anyway, the guys I've been training have been somewhat lackluster as well. Not for lack of trying on my part though. Trainee #1: Was a goof for lack of a better word. It doesn't instill me with great confidence when I give instructions and he listens to me with his mouth open. They got rid of him when he bolluxed up the palletizer and just stood around with his hands in his pockets. This secondhand info since I was at a funeral. Yeah, my Uncle passed away on Sept. 29. :( So he was bumped to a different area. That lasted for about a week or two. He left the plant for 2hrs to get his earplugs. Instead of paying for a new pair, $1, and saving $5 in gas in driving back and forth. Yeah. Brillant.
Trainee #2, sigh, he's a little better but the problem is he has another. Oh, I understand that sometimes it necessary and you gotta do it but we work a 12hr shift. 12 hours. So when do you rest and recover? Right now he comes in 1/2 hr late and leaves an hour early. You're a fucking temp!! They are not going to hire you if you do that!! It was a 1/2 hour but lately its been an hour to an hour and 1/2!! So instead of getting better its getting worse!
And he's not stupid its just to retain knowledge when you're tired all the time. So I feel kinda sorry for him. Except when he calls me back early from breaks for something he could figure out how to fix or could call maint. or a forklift driver. So I only feel a little sorry then.
So now I have a 3rd trainee. A little philopino guy. He's doing pretty good for his first day. Asks questions and seems to be picking it really quickly. Plus I have an experiened operator coming over full-time Sunday. So finally I might be able to go to break without worrying about everything crashing to 9 kinds of hell.
I really need to get caught on alot of things, house cleaning, bills, and laundry. I might go to a different club tonight. I need a change.

2 Lines!!

New guy at work is killing me.
:P
He's new so he's still learning the ropes
but 2 production lines are easier than the 3
running all together.
Apparently someone didn't pay the cable bill
at work cuz its not working. I thought for a while
someone left it on a GGW commercial and the powers that
be got pissed. It'll probably be on Monday.
